We mistake sex for romance. Guys are taught that pushing a girl up against a wall is romance. Sex is easy; you can do it with anyone, yourself, with batteries. Romance is when someone you like walks into a room and they take your breath away. Romance is when two people are dancing and they fit together perfectly. Romance is when two people are walking next to each other and all of a sudden they find themselves holding hands, and they don’t know how that happened.

The origin of Cyclops and Havok was one of the first stories I read about when I got into comics. I feel like I’ve always known their story. That being said, there is something about seeing this scene recreated by Sara Pichelli that makes me feel like I am reading it for the first time. I am fascinated all over again. This is a beautiful series. And although she is gone, this scene really makes me want to learn more about Katherine Summers. We know so much about Corsair, Havok, Cyclops, and even the baby inside her that will eventually become Vulcan, but sadly she is lost. She was a such a badass here. She saved her boys. She is a hero. I have a new found love for her. :]
